What Advice, Tips, and Self-Help Can’t Give You
You can read the posts. Save the quotes. Listen to the podcasts. Understand your patterns intellectually.
And still feel stuck.
Therapy offers something different: a space to slow down, pay attention to what is happening beneath the surface, and understand not only what you want to change, but why those patterns have been so difficult to shift.
Telehealth throughout New York, New Jersey, Florida, Vermont, and Idaho.
In-person sessions in Downtown Brooklyn on Mondays.

For people who are used to holding it together but are starting to feel the cost of that.
We look at the patterns underneath the stress, burnout, or self-doubt. Not just what is happening, but how you relate to yourself when it does.
This is slower, deeper work. The kind that helps you actually understand your emotions, not just manage them.
$250 per session. May be covered by your insurance.

Most couples come in trying to solve the same argument over and over.
We focus less on the surface issue and more on what is happening underneath it. The reactions, the assumptions, the places where both of you feel unseen or misunderstood.
The goal is not to decide who is right. It is to change the pattern so you are no longer stuck in the same cycle.

FAQ
What if therapy hasn’t worked for me before?
That’s more common than you might think. If past therapy felt too surface-level, it doesn’t mean therapy can’t help — it may just mean you need a different approach. My work goes deeper. We pay attention to the moments where you move past something important, explain instead of feel, or find yourself repeating the same patterns.
Do you take insurance?
I accept Aetna and Optum plans through Alma.
I’m also an out-of-network provider, which means I don’t bill insurance directly. Many clients use services like Thrizer for reimbursement, and some prefer private pay for more confidentiality.
How is couples therapy different from individual therapy?
Instead of focusing only on one partner, we look at the relationship itself, including the patterns you share and how they developed. The goal isn’t deciding who’s right, but helping you repair and reconnect.

Is couples therapy covered by insurance?
Insurance usually requires one person to have a mental health diagnosis (an F-code) in order to cover treatment. Since couples therapy is about your relationship dynamic, it’s typically billed under a Z-code, which most insurance companies don’t reimburse. Some couples still use out-of-network benefits, but often it’s an out-of-pocket service.

What should I expect from family therapy?
Family therapy creates a supportive space where everyone can be heard and understood. I specifically work with parents and adult children, helping you navigate communication challenges and shift old patterns that no longer serve your relationships.
What’s different about group therapy?
Groups let you learn from others and practice new ways of relating in real time. Many people find the connection surprisingly powerful.
